BUCKED OFF

Sierra got bucked off the little play pony that we hung in grandma's tree. She was out riding it and fell off backwards landing in the rocks. The rest of us were out shooting guns and I called to tell Mary we were on our way and she said Sierra had cut her head open. We got there and blood was all over. It had just gushed down her head and her shirt. The back of her shirt was covered in blood all the way down to her underwear. She didn't want anyone to see the blood and wanted to hide it. She even wanted to go and clean the rocks the next day. She found out there was none on the rocks it all ended up on her shirt. I did talk her into one picture though. We opted for no stiches because of where it was at and thought a little scar wouldn't hurt her there. So we bandaged her up and put her to bed. The next day it had scabbed well and we sent her to school to show her battle wounds. We are so glad we are still a stitch free family. TOUGH GIRL!!

While the Others Kids are at School

Makenzie and Tyson have a great time in the morning with Dad and Mom to themselves. They play well together too and have a lot of fun!! Makenzie is enjoying school and you can see just how many projects she has been doing. Tyson was having fun balancing on dad's hands showing his muscles. It is nice to have a little one on one sometimes.

Elk Hunting with the Whites

We went up camping to Ely for Steve's elk hunt. It was a lot of fun and beautiful weather. The kids had a lot of fun with the White family. It is always nice to have other kids to play with. They had fun racing bikes down the hill, making forts, hiking looking for treasures, riding 4-wheelers, and swinging on the rope swing. It was short but fun to be there with Steve. He ended up being very close to the one he wanted but never could get a clean shot. He really enjoys hunting and enjoys the time to think. He is training the children well and how to be true hunters.

Beautiful Singing

Makenzie is so hilarious to listen to when she is singing with headphones on. We were going camping and I had the camera right there as I was driving so I set it up and when she started singing I would push the button. After a few tries I got this. This is Makenzie singing Jesus Take the Wheel. SO FUNNY!!

Makenzie's New PONY Shirt

Makenzie called Grandma to tell her about her new shirt. So Grandma wanted to see it on the blog. So here is Makenzie in her new outfit.

GONE and COWBOY PANTS

Tyson wakes up everyday and wants to put on his cowboy pants and boots and go to grandpas. He loves wearing pants and boots and his hat. His other favorite thing to go around singing is Gone. It is on the country karaoke and so he has heard the kids sing it. Here are a couple videos of him although they obviously are not as great as when you catch him when he doesn't know you are there.

Neighboorhood School Traditions

Our neighborhood has a lot of fun traditions that great moms have started. The first if school or treat that happened the after the kids got home on the first day of school. They had a great time going around the neighborhood collecting treats, school supplies and even p.j.'s. The weather took a turn for the worst but I actually think it was better than the heat the last couple of years. The next morning we had breakfast at the bus stop. We meet early and have breakfast together before they all get on the bus. It is a lot of fun too. The parents just sit around and talk while the kids run crazy in the streets. Then on Wednesday we had a mom's luncheon at Inside Scoop. I didn't take any pictures of this stuff but stole some from my friend Cindy. Thanks Cindy.

First Day of School '08

Well the kids first day of school went well. They were all so excited. We had gone to visit the school the Friday before they started to see their classrooms and say hello to their teachers. They could hardly wait after that. Dad gave the kids each a father's blessing, which they all look forward too. It was very nice and I always love the strong spirit that is their during these blessings. Then we headed off to school. We got them all lined up with their teacher and then took a peek in their classrooms before heading home. Makenzie goes to kindergarten in the afternoon so we took her at 12:30. Then we noticed Drake forgot his lunch the first day of school so he had to have hot lunch. Makenzie was a little nervous. She cried that morning and said she wanted to stay home with me. I think she was just trying to make me feel good. Once we got to school she held on to my leg for a minute and then got right in line. There are a lot of little girls in her class that she already knows so that helped. I actually did okay on this day, but the next few days that I put her on the bus I cried a little. I can't believe that they are growing up so fast. They all had a wonderful first day and loved it. Tyson just hung out with mom and dad. We ran a lot of errands this week while they were all in school. He's going to be my little friend while everyone else is in school. We went to pick the kids up but they all wanted to ride the bus home so we took pictures as they got off the bus.

It's a Porcupine

Drake wanted to have his hair highlighted for school again this year
so mom did it for him. He hated be pulling his hair through the cap and just about cried several times. I think it turned out just fine though. It was so much fun experimenting on someone else's hair. He got a hair cut soon after and he wasn't very happy about that because it cut a lot of the color off. Oh well, we can do it again.

School Shopping

I like to take the girls and boys shopping seperately. The girls and I went one afternoon and went to eat and Del Taco I know yuck, but they want tacos and that was the closest place. They didn't like it as much as Taco Bell which we found later as we went to find an ice cream shop after shopping. We had a lot of fun and the girls got lots of clothes. We went to see dad at the fire station too. That is always fun. The girls are both growing up so quickly. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed the laid back shopping trip. We took the boys and went to St. George. Sawyer and Drake seem to be harder to shop for. Sawyer is getting older and they like different stores and Drake is between sizes and struggled finding things. We had to get Sawyer back to football so we were on a time schedule and that always rushes us a little but we got everything accomplished we needed to. The last few years we have had Chinese but this year we went to Wingers. We missed sitting looking and the signs or whatever everyone we know is. Like the rooster, rabbit, snake, etc. It is always fun to compare and see who shouldn't get a long and who should. We had a great time and even took Steve along for the shopping adventure.
