Christmas 2010

We had a wonderful Christmas as always. We got together with the Applegates Christmas Eve and had dinner, visited and went caroling. Umm I forgot the camera that night too!! It was nice to have Sawyer there to help us sing and enjoyed a big group this year. He got to open some of his presents a day early and i only have video of that. After the caroling we read the Christmas story and opened presents from brothers and sisters. Steve had to work Christmas day so the kids decided that 2:30 was a good time to wake up even thought we settled on 4:00. We ended up getting up at 3:30 and had a great time opening presents and hanging with Dad before he left for work. Grandma and Grandpa even made it over early in the morning:). We had a delicious Christmas dinner at Grandma's too. What a wonderful season full of giving, stressing, enjoying family and friends, and as always trying to somehow remember and instill in the children the true meaning of Christmas.

Christmas Parties

Draper Party...
We had a great time as always at the Draper Party. Uncle Carl and Aunt Geri and their family did a wonderful job and had a lot of fun things that brought the true Draper out in all of us including NATALIE!! So fun to see those we don't see very often and remind our children how blessed we are to have a great extended family. We missed Uncle Leon, Connie and Jon and their families and look forward to next year!!

LEE PARTY... fun party filled with great food, fun games, tender moments, funny moments (donkey), and great family. Again so fun to see all of our extended family. We missed those that weren't there and enjoyed visiting with those that were. Good memories.

Fun with ALL the Family

We had a great time going to Heber to get to see Dave, Tracie, Taylor, Drew, Lana, Casey, Lindsay, and Jack!! Oh yeah and everyone else that lives around there too!! We had a great time sledding in ALL the SNOW!! It was so fun to be up there to enjoy the snow and visit all the family we had a great time. Bundle up, unbundle, bundle up, unbundle.....

School Christmas Projects

Makenzie and Tyson had some great Christmas projects at school. They love to show them off and then get their picture taken by all their stuff.

Girl's Piano Recital

Sierra and Makenzie have been working hard learning the piano. They have lessons every Tues. morning at 7:45. Sierra played "Angels We Have Heard on High" and Makenzie played "Joy to the World". They both did excellent and it was fun to see how much they had passed off in the last few months.

Straight A's for Everyone!!

The kids all did a great job in school. They all got straight A's and are so excited they all get to go skiing for free at Brianhead. Yeah!! Makenzie and Tyson have been doing lots of projects too. We love to fill up the door and get pictures of all their wonderful stuff. Drake was student of the month for being kind to others. He is a great student and we are proud of them all. Keep it up!!

Thanksgiving Fun

Steve had to work Thanksgiving again this year so that was a bummer, but we did have a great time with all the Staheli Family for dinner. It was delicious and the boys had a good time playing a little football in the arena. That evening we went into the fire station for dinner too. The guys always do a great job. The best part is no cooking or clean up for me:). The ladies pulled an all nighter to go black Friday shopping. It was a little crazy but fun of course. The girls did a great job watching the kids with some help from the boys. That night Uncle Weston took us sky diving in Vegas. It was a lot of fun and the kids absolutely loved it. We got some great laughs too. What a wonderful time of year and we are all so thankful for our family, health, the gospel, jobs, home, and so many more things. We love you all! Happy Thanksgiving.

Last BYU Home Game for Uncle Shane

We made a quick trip up to watch Uncle Shane's last home game at BYU stadium. We had great time. Cody and Natalie were nice enough to let us spend the night there, have a yummy breakfast, and play with the kids. We ran out to Eagle Mountain to visit the Marshall clan and took Sara with us. We invited Garrett and Ashleigh to go to the game with us too. Tyson decided to stay with Isaac and go bowling. We went to lunch with G & G, Brady, Angie and Quincy and then headed over to the game. It was a little chilly that day but the game ended up not being too cold. It was a blow out of course. They honored the Seniors so that was fun to see Halle and Carrie out there too! We had a great time watching Shane play this year and we will miss it next year. Great job Shane!!

6th Grade Champions

Drake had a great time playing football this year. His team went undefeated and won the championship. Drake played awesome! He had interceptions, touch downs, some great blocks and tackles. The championship game was played at Dixie College Hanson Stadium. That was a lot of fun for them to play there. Steve was able to coach this year and had a great time too. Way to go boys!!

Smarty Pants!

We are so proud of Sawyer and excited for him. He got a 29 on the ACT!! Great Job!!

Sawyer Band and Homecoming

Sawyer has done an excellent job being the drum major for the high school band this year. He has put a lot of time and showed a lot of leadership. They performed at homecoming, the playoff games, and at the state football game. He also marched in the homecoming and Veteran's Day parade. Sawyer also was asked to escort Haley during the homecoming assembly and did a great job there and looked so handsome. He asked Alexa to go to dance and they also had a great time.

Ditch fun in NOVEMBER!

We took the kids out to the desert to shoot pumpkins and ride 4-wheelers. It was so much fun. The each blew up their pumpkin, rode wheelers, and hiked. It was warm. Sierra had taken Bruiser back to the ditch for a drink and to swim and then I told the kids that Dad used to float the ditches all the time so on the way back everyone except me got in and floated down the ditch. It looked like a lot of fun but someone had to be the picture taker right:)

Halloween and Pumpkin Patch

The younger kids had a field trip to the pumpkin patch at the Ag farm. They had a lot of fun picking out their pumpkins. Tyson's class got to hunt for them around the school because they go in the afternoon. They put on the binoculars and found them. Drake dressed up as a bloody doctor for school this year. The parade was as always so cute. It is fun to see all the different costumes. The class parties went great and I got to do Makenzie this time. We had a lot of fun. We had a wonderful Halloween this year. We had a fun neighbor hood party, trick or treated around the neighborhood, went the to fairgrounds, rolled in big balls on water, bungee jumped and then trick or treated some more. We were tired. We watched Hocus Pocus and went to bed. Happy Halloween!!

Soccer 2010

Sierra, Makenzie, and Tyson all played soccer this year. They had a great time and really do enjoy soccer. It is a fun sport and is fast paced except when your in the kindergarten clump and the ball is stuck in the middle. They all did awesome and worked really hard. Sierra is very good at defender. She can kick it pretty hard. She scored some goals and played hard. They only had six girls and so they didn't get a break so that was hard, but they did great. Makenzie had a great little team with a lot of her friends on it. She scored a lot of goals and is a little go getter. Tyson loved it. He would ask every day if it was practice or a game. He had a great time even though we lost most of our games. He scored usually every game and was really fast. He was a great mid fielder and loved to play with all he had.

RAIN and School Work

It doesn't rain here very often and it usually just gets the ground wet and then stops. We had a few good rain storms in the last few weeks. The kids had a lot of fun playing in it we all love when it rains. Tyson and Makenzie have been busy at school doing a lot of projects. They keep filling up the door. It is so much fun to see their work. Great job!!

Sierra Fashion Show

Sierra's activity day group does a fall fashion show at the beginning of school. They get to show off their new clothes and learn about poise. It sure is fun to watch.

BYU Game

We had a great time watching Uncle Shane in the opening game for BYU. It was awesome game!! We got to go with G & G, Carrie, Halle, Brady, Angie, Quincy and a lot of Shane's family and friends. Halle was also blessed that weekend and it was our first time seeing Quincy and we were so excited. We love football but it is even more exciting getting to watch someone we really know. Great job Shane!!

Back to School 2010

Aren't they all grown up? I can't believe it. Sawyer started his Senior year, Drake started middle school, Sierra is in 4th grade, Makenzie in 2nd, and my baby Tyson is in Kindergarten.

Sawyer is enjoying getting out of school early a few days a week being a big senior. He is having a great time with friends going to lunch every day. He is getting all those things done (ACT) and starting to think about where to go to college. Weird. I can't believe it.

Drake is loving middle school. He is getting straight "A's" so far and works very hard. He is a great student and enjoys the time between classes so he can talk to his friends. I can't believe he is in middle school and almost 12.

Sierra
is really liking 4th Grade. Her teacher is Mr. Dorsey. She loves school especially the social part of it but always does her work and rarely has to be asked to get her homework done.

Makenzie has Mrs. Shumway. Drake and Sierra both had her and we love her. She is awesome. Makenzie enjoys school also and is doing great. She has got a 100% on all but one test and can even spell Saguaro. She is so fun and is having fun in 2nd grade.

Tyson is loving kindergarten. He has a lot of friends in his class and even his cousin Shaylee. His teacher is Mrs. Williams. He is doing very well and starting to get his reading down. He loves to show me books he can read. He especially likes it when mom comes in and when she picks him up.

Pirate Paradise Roller Skating

Mary wanted to take the kids roller skating in Mesquite before school started. So we headed over one day and had a great time. The kids loved it. It is fun to roller skate and a great work out. We just need to remember pillows for behinds next time.

Camping

Our camping trips this summer were very few. We were able to go to Beaver Mtn. with some friends. We stayed in a condo that they had and enjoyed fishing, rhino riding, smores, and nice cool weather. We had a great time. Garrett was even able to come with us which was so nice because Drake and Garretts schedules are getting busier and busier. We love the mountains.

HUNTING TRIP
We were also able to go hunting with the Staheli's. We had a great time with them and the kids all had a great time playing one last time before school time came. They enjoyed shooting bow and arrows, riding the 4-wheelers, finding crawdads, wading in a stream, and celebrating Erin's birthday! We had a wonderful time even though the big bucks were not found.

Sawyer Baseball All Stars

Sawyer played on the Senior league this summer. They played a lot of games and did well. Sawyer was their catcher and played third sometimes. He did an awesome job. Their tournament was in mid July and had evening games. His first game didn't even get over until 12:15 a.m. , Yes that is a.m. I couldn't believe it. They ended up not going to regionals but had a great time.
