We had a awesome time at the lake!! We got there about 2, after a morning full of baseball games. Steve and I just laid under the shade on the beach and watched the kids play!! They were content to just play on the beach so we enjoyed that time. We saw a few wild burrows, Drake caught a fish, Steve practiced swimming, and we got a ticket for not having a class II floatable on our way to pick up grandma. Brings back memories of the Bear Lake trip!! We look foward to many more lake trips.

Makenzie's 6th Birthday!!

I can't believe she is 6. Well Makenzie had a lot of little parties this year. Sierra started it off the Saturday before by wanting to bake a cake with some friends and decided to do a surprise b-day for Makenzie when she got home from a friends. It was so cute they decorated the cake and were all hiding and yelled surprise when we walked in. Then the day before her birthday we had the family party because we both worked on her birthday!! We had a family party and had a lot of fun!! She wanted a Hawaiian party so we did a flower cake and a few decorations and a flower pinata. Then her birthday we took treats into her class and then cupcakes to her baseball game. Then we went to Sawyer's games on Friday and went to Chucky Chz after. Then on Saturday we went to the lake and let her take a friend. SOOO FUN!! It got a little out of hand all because I didn't do the friend party thing. But oh well it was fun!!

Easter

Easter was a little crazy this year. I was very sad that it was so crazy. It was during the fair and spring break. We colored a few eggs with G & G "D", Jake and Stevie. They also hid their Easter gifts around the house for the kids to find later. We were so busy at the fair that we finally got in the Easter egg hunt at Grandma Staheli's with all the Staheli cousins at 5:30 Saturday night. At least the rain had cleared by then. It was lots of fun and the kids had a great time finding all the great hiding places I had. Sunday morning we were able to find Easter baskets with Uncle Brady and Aunt Angie. I think Sierra was the last this year to find her basket in the closet. We had a beautiful Sunday remembering why we celebrate Easter and the kids sang in Sacrament meeting. The did a beautiful job. Next year hopefully all my plans for this year will happen.

May Day Dance 2009

What a fun year!! Makenzie's was so excited to show us her moves with the parachute. She did a wonderful job and smiled so big. Sierra did a little Hawainn surfin dance. She looked like a beautiful island girl and said she couldn't look at us or else she would smile and she couldn't do that. Drake last year dressing up was awesome. He was the disco king. He really was for a day at school. He was the best boy dancer in his class and I think he was the true disco king of the night. Tyson was the winner of a $50 gift card for Maverik too. So we headed to Maverik for a little snack after the big dance.

FAIR 2009

We had a lot of fun with grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends this year at the fair. We hit the rides 2 days and got everyone in at least twice I think. I'm terrible at taking pictures of the those just watching but here are a few pictures of the fair outside of the barn.

Fair Life in the Barn

Drake did his first pig this year!! He had a lot of fun and put a lot of work into it. The first day was market where they judge the pig and Porkster did very well he placed 4th over all. We were very excited about that. The next day was Showmanship and Drake took 1st. It was so fun to watch. He was very intense and had a natural ability with it. Awesome job Drake!!

Because Drake took 1st in his age in the pigs he moved into the round robin. In this the top placed in steer, lamb, goat and pigs compete. Drake spent most of Friday preparing for this and did a great job!! You may ask where is Drake in a couple pictures? The steer was a little bigger than him. He did say that the steer was his second favorite to show. This was a great experience for him but it did take a lot of time. He enjoyed learning more about each one but still loved his Porkster.

All the hard work was paid off during the auction when HYROCK, Drake's buyer, very generously, bid more than Drake was expecting. It will give Drake a nice start for his mission and college fund. He also received a nice bonus from Doug Swartz for the MVCU. Drake also received money, a duffel bag and other items for placing in each event. NICE JOB DRAKE!!!

Grandma Lee's 80th Birthday

What a wonderful Grandma!! She is full of life, laughter, and spunk. She brings light to any gathering and makes you smile whenever you see her. We had a wonderful time celebrating her 80th birthday and were so excited to see all of the family that we haven't seen in a long time. Grandma we love you and miss being close to you always. You are a wonderful lady and we all look up to you and your example. What a wonderful blessing you are in our lives!!

Tyson loves to ride Shorty. Steve took him over to ride one day after finding some old shaps and vest. Tyson was so excited. He did think they were for bucking horses though. We decided to take a few pics of the little cowboy with his horse. So cute!!!

Pulling Taffy

This was one of my favorite things to make when I was young. I think it is because it has a lot of sugar in it. We have made it a few times and this time I a few pictures. The kids always have fun getting sticky and sharing there taffy with all there friends.
