Fair Life in the Barn

Drake did his first pig this year!! He had a lot of fun and put a lot of work into it. The first day was market where they judge the pig and Porkster did very well he placed 4th over all. We were very excited about that. The next day was Showmanship and Drake took 1st. It was so fun to watch. He was very intense and had a natural ability with it. Awesome job Drake!!

Because Drake took 1st in his age in the pigs he moved into the round robin. In this the top placed in steer, lamb, goat and pigs compete. Drake spent most of Friday preparing for this and did a great job!! You may ask where is Drake in a couple pictures? The steer was a little bigger than him. He did say that the steer was his second favorite to show. This was a great experience for him but it did take a lot of time. He enjoyed learning more about each one but still loved his Porkster.

All the hard work was paid off during the auction when HYROCK, Drake's buyer, very generously, bid more than Drake was expecting. It will give Drake a nice start for his mission and college fund. He also received a nice bonus from Doug Swartz for the MVCU. Drake also received money, a duffel bag and other items for placing in each event. NICE JOB DRAKE!!!

Grandma Lee's 80th Birthday

What a wonderful Grandma!! She is full of life, laughter, and spunk. She brings light to any gathering and makes you smile whenever you see her. We had a wonderful time celebrating her 80th birthday and were so excited to see all of the family that we haven't seen in a long time. Grandma we love you and miss being close to you always. You are a wonderful lady and we all look up to you and your example. What a wonderful blessing you are in our lives!!

Tyson loves to ride Shorty. Steve took him over to ride one day after finding some old shaps and vest. Tyson was so excited. He did think they were for bucking horses though. We decided to take a few pics of the little cowboy with his horse. So cute!!!

Pulling Taffy

This was one of my favorite things to make when I was young. I think it is because it has a lot of sugar in it. We have made it a few times and this time I a few pictures. The kids always have fun getting sticky and sharing there taffy with all there friends.

Riding Bikes to School

This was something Steve and I remember doing all the time and it seems that the kids only ride around in the neighborhood. Steve got his new bike and decided to take the kids to school on there bikes. It ended up being a cold and windy day but they still had fun. Maybe next time it will be a little bit warmer

Great-Grandma Staheli

We decided to stop by and see Grandma Staheli on our way up to Heber. We rarely stop because we always feel in a hurry. We stopped by and had a great time. The kids counted all her dolls. She has collected dolls forever and the are all over the house and probably hiding somewhere too. I think we got well over 100. They enjoyed showing grandma all there tricks and being crazy.

DRAPER TEMPLE

We took the opportunity to go to the Draper temple open house when we went up to Jack's baby blessing. It was a great experience. The kids thought it was so beautiful. It is a wonderful thing to be able take the kids inside and teach them with more meaning what they have to look foward to after they are 12 when they can do baptisms for the dead and when they are married and sealed in the temple. We went to the temple shortly after and Tyson kept asking me if we went to the temple on the bus, because we rode the bus to the Draper temple after meeting at a Chapel for a short intro. Thanks for coming with us everyone. It was a great time.

THE GOOD OLD DAYS-SHOCKING

This was a fun memory of when I was a child. We each had a turn bringing it to school at least once if not more. My dad made it out of an old phone box. We also had a lot of fun with it at home with friends, doing pranks, etc. There is always a little entertaiment when all the boy in our family get together. They found this and had a little too much fun. Check these videos out. Tyson even tried it but the funniest is when you really crank it and the electrical current really gives someone a jolt.
